If we are tryign to end poverty for children, we should not be touting manufactured food replacements, with high costs and high death rates. 4000 babies die every day from unsafe formula prep in resource poor countries. A celebrity may as well join this campaign by signing her name across a gravestone.
akatsuki6672 I think we all can do something every time we take decisions i.e. when we think about what we can buy to eat. I try to buy less but good food and support fair trade goods and I sign petitions. Our signature is so precious! We can do a lot!

there is infinite child sponsorship.. we're wealthy in north america in general.. and our money goes 20 times farther in 3rd world countries, so giving a little does A LOT.

Hell no. We need to take the government and smush it back to a small government. The government should only protect our rights and property. Welfare and all that crap are making ALL of us poor, even the ones getting welfare. Churches around the world are feeding and educating millions of people overseas and the government isn't doing anything. It's OUR job. Tell our leaders that we want our freedom back.

And for those who think population will just grow and grow to never stop: watch the developed countries and how their population is growing more and more slowly. If those poor countries develop they can get to that stage. I know I make it look too simple but I know poverty can be beaten. Saying no would be an insult to human intelect

For those esceptic to the fact that poverty cant be eliminated just watch those emerging countries and how their poor people are actually getting decent jobs. To end poverty we just need to promoted education and fair trade rules. Punish those who go to poor countries just to exploit their people to get cheaper products. Education leads to people more selfcouncius of their political decisions that would lead to better leaders.

Please, if this clip has made an impression on you, read the UN Summit resolution and do what you can to help even just a neighbor in need. Times are hard, but if we stick together the world can get past this mess. There are many ways to get involved. Little acts of kindness go a long way. Only when a person receives Jesus into their heart as their own personal Saviour and Lord, will anything truly happen and begin. Poverty is a spiritual problem a problem of sin, and only Jesus can take care of it. You can feed a person's belly, etc. etc. but they can still die and go to Hell on a full stomach.
